Researchers
The aim of the MOVE project is to provide a research-informed contribution towards improving the conditions of the mobility of young people in Europe and a reduction of the negative impacts of mobility through the identification of ways of good practice thus fostering sustainable development and well-being.
The main research question of the study is: How can the mobility of young people be ‘good’ both for socio-economic development and for individual development of young people, and what are the factors that foster/hinder such beneficial mobility?
In order to investigate all the dimensions of youth mobility, MOVE follows a multilevel research approach, including secondary data analysis, case studies and a survey.
The results will be compared and interpreted together in order to reconstruct patterns of mobility, to identify factors hindering/fostering youth mobility in the EU and good practice.

Young people
MOVE focuses on young people’s own experiences and explores the ways in which young people are involved in mobility across Europe. Therefore we are interested in your experiences of studying, working and living in another country. If you would like to participate in an interview, get in touch with the contact person of your country. You can also follow us on Facebook, and be part of our blog activities.

Professionals
The aim of MOVE is to provide a systematic analysis of youth mobility in Europe and knowledge about the complexities of young people’s mobility patterns on an individual and socio-structural level. With the goal in mind to analyse factors hindering or fostering youth mobility, the project will provide examples of good practices useful for young persons wishing to study, work and live in another country of the European Union.

Policy makers
MOVE relates to the Call “The young Generation in an Innovative, Inclusive and Sustainable Europe” in the work programme 2014–2015, “Societal challenges – Europe in a changing world – inclusive, innovative and reflective societies”, addressing the topic Young-2-2014: “Youth mobility: opportunities, impacts, policies”.
The aim of MOVE is to provide a research-informed contribution towards an improvement of the conditions of the mobility of young people in Europe and a reduction of the negative impacts of mobility through the identification of ways of good practice thus fostering sustainable development and wellbeing.
The main research question is: How can the mobility of young people be ‘good’ both for socio-economic development and for individual development of young people, and what are the factors that foster/hinder such beneficial mobility?
With this goal in mind, the project will deliver a more complete picture of the mobility patterns, the factors that hinder and foster ‘good’ mobility, and the positive and negative economic impact.
